For over thirty years Irish language schooling has been growing and developing throughout Ireland with some 37,000 children now receiving their education through Irish. Within Northern Ireland, 4000 children now attend Irish schooling in 44 preschools, 32 primary and 3 post primary schools. Since the foundation of Iontaobhas na Gaelscolaíochta in 2001 we have been able to provide 20 primary schools and 20 preschools with essential funding so that these communities could benefit from an Irish language school.
Over 3 million pounds has been spent within this period which has come from a mixture of government grants and individual donations.
